The authoring Service represents the preparing and the assembling of all elements that make up a DVD video, a multimedia CD or CD-Extra. For the three supports above, authoring is the second step, after the step of providing the content of the disc.

The authoring process includes:

• Graphic design or artwork realization;
• Creating the menus;
• Inserting the chapter points;
• Auto play settings (if applicable);
• The settings for navigation;
• The preparation and the insertion of the subtitles (if applicable).

The master results after following the above steps of the authoring process.

The third step is the replication having the master as a source.
